If I Wrote Agents of SHIELD Season Two

August 31, 2014 by Dave 10 Comments

Let’s face it guys and girls: Agents of SHIELD Season One was disappointing. With a capital DISAPPOINT. Yes, things started to “Turn, Turn, Turn” following Captain America 2, but that simply saw Agents of SHIELD progress from a massive disappointment to a passable show filled to the brim with potential. The fact that the writers and showrunners seemed comfortable admitting they had to wait 17 EPISODES to finally get interesting (because of the Cap 2 movie tie-in) is completely and utterly…

You know what? This isn’t about Season One anymore. It’s in the past, and we’ll never watch it again, even though the DVD was just released (seriously: not a DVD you need, although 4 and a half stars on 800 Amazon reviews is STUNNING). It’s time to focus on how we make Agents of SHIELD awesome for Season Two, which begins September 23rd. I have some ideas: [Read more…] about If I Wrote Agents of SHIELD Season Two

Thanos: A God Up There Infinite Comic Review! An Infinity Epilogue

August 31, 2014 by Dave 4 Comments

I didn’t have any awareness of Thanos: A God Up There, the six issue Infinite Digital miniseries from Marvel, until I received a Marvel Unlimited membership deal for half off each issue. Having recently enjoyed Jim Starlin’s Thanos: The Infinity Revelation and always carrying an appreciation for the Mad Titan, the opportunity for discounted Thanos stories was too good to pass up. What I didn’t foresee was 1) how enjoyable the series would be and 2) how relevant it would be to Marvel continuity, particularly Infinity. Wolverine #12 Review! The Last Wolverine Story: Conclusion

August 30, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

This is it. The be all, end all, last issue of the WOLVERINE title. Going back to 1988 with WOLVERINE number 1, or even farther to the Frank Miller/Chris Claremont mini series from 1982, it has been quite the rollercoaster adventure, chronicling Wolverine’s life. It all comes down to this, a double sized issue that is now the bookend to a long and illustrious comic book series. [Read more…] about Wolverine #12 Review! The Last Wolverine Story: Conclusion

Silver Surfer #5 Review! The End of a Five Issue Setup Arc

August 30, 2014 by Travis Bass Leave a Comment

Dan Slott and Michael Allred’s run on Silver Surfer was one of my most anticipated books once it was announced. I loved the idea that Surfer was going to travel around the universe with a human companion as they explore a trippy Jack Kirbyesque version of the Marvel Galactic Universe. And while I’m not disappointed with with this run, I do wish it would pick up the pace a bit. Dan slott has spent the last four issues introducing the audience to the new character of Dawn Greenwood, and while that is not a bad thing seeing as Dawn is a likeable character, let me just say that this book has not quite reached the heights set by the Infinite Comic that Marvel released on Comixology around the time this book started. Cyclops #4 Review! Man (and son) V.S. Wild

August 30, 2014 by Big Phil Leave a Comment

The Trial of Jean Grey may not of been my favorite crossover, but my favorite part of that whole arc was that it gave us a new Cyclops book. For anyone who hasn’t checked this book out yet or doesn’t know this series, this is about the young time displaced Cyclops and not the present day revolutionary Cyclops. I’ve enjoyed the father and son feel that this book has had throughout the whole series. This may not be an all-ages book, but I feel it does have a rather mass appeal to everyone.
