SUPERIOR IRON MAN #1: Tony Stark: Earth’s Mightiest D-Bag

November 16, 2014 by Matt Lehn Leave a Comment

As a byproduct of widespread super-personality wackiness currently making its way through the Avengers & X-Men: Axis storyline, Marvel has relaunched Iron Man with a whole new m.o. Oddly enough, it falls well into place with the billionaire industrialist’s old m.o. pre-life-changing chest wound. Decidedly off the wagon, Tony is making fresh starts all over the place: new armor, a new city, a new attitude and a new creative team. Although the perspective may be questionable, the actual changes themselves seem pretty good so far. [Read more…] about SUPERIOR IRON MAN #1: Tony Stark: Earth’s Mightiest D-Bag

“AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #5: This Side Up”

November 15, 2014 by Matt Lehn Leave a Comment

As writer Rick Remender’s Marvel event story crosses the halfway mark, issue 5 yields a surprisingly uneven reading experience. Opening and closing on a couple of high-impact beats, it also mechanically carves a wheel-spinning valley right down the middle. [Read more…] about “AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #5: This Side Up”

Spider-Verse #1 Review!

November 14, 2014 by Bill Zeiders Leave a Comment

I didn’t know until this week that Spider-Verse #1 was going to be an anthology. I want to mention up front that I expected for a long time that this book would be a major chapter within the Spider-Verse story. It isn’t that. Instead, it’s six stories of varying shortness that either flesh out a Spider-Person we’ve seen on the edges of the event, introduce us to a new character, or parody some aspect of the Spider-Man mythos. THE LOGAN LEGACY #4 – “Lady Deathstrike”

November 13, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

The Logan Legacy continues this week with a look at another character affected by Wolverine’s recent demise. Lady Deathstrike has always had a deep connection to Wolverine, because the adamantium metal that was bonded to his bones was done so with stolen tech from her father. Which, then makes her crazy and hell bent on exacting revenge upon Wolverine, because, well, reasons. [Read more…] about THE LOGAN LEGACY #4 – “Lady Deathstrike”

Batman #36 Review! Endgame Part 2 – Jokerized Justice

November 13, 2014 by Bill Zeiders Leave a Comment

Last month, we learned that the Joker is back, and that he had somehow Jokerized The Justice League. This issue continues Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s “Endgame” story with part two. If Capullo’s excellently creepy cover didn’t tip you off, Batman is fighting a Joker-crazed Superman, and it’s about as terrifying as you’d imagine. [Read more…] about Batman #36 Review!
