Question of the Week: What’s Up With Marvel Unlimited Offline Reading?

As you all know by now, I’m unabashedly in love with Marvel Unlimited, Marvel Comics’ digital subscription library. Even my wife is like, “You’re going to have to choose between one of us eventually.” On a human to human level, I’m not that comfortable with my answer.

My relationship with the Marvel Unlimited app is significantly more complicated (though not necessarily more than my marriage; women, amirite?!). The app is both wonderful (I use it daily), and flawed (ok, can’t read 33% of that panel). The Android app updates of early April have given us Wave 2 of the MU app, and the results are mostly very positive. Reviews on the Google Play Store are gradually reflecting improvement, now nearly at 3.5 out of 5 (up from an abysmal 2).

So How’s the Marvel Unlimited for Android App Update?

Quietly big news this weekend as Marvel rolled out its Marvel Unlimited Android app update. Following the major Unlimited app development announced for iOS at SXSW, the Android app is now seeing similar improvements only a month later.

So it’s been a year since you have published this.. I am so interested in reading comics.. i am completely new to this rabbit hole and well i dont know anything. Since i am not as rich as tony stark and i cannot really get every issue out there (since i like physical copies).. do you really recommend this?

I was thinking of getting the marvel unlimited service and then start getting Marvel Now! in physical copies.. i dont know 🙁

Marvel Unlimited App For Android – Bugs, Facepalms, and Comics Galore

Did you know Android smartphones consist of more than 80% of the mobile phone market? The stat always amazes me.

Attention on the iPhone is always so great that it’s easy to forget that as of the most recent quarterly market share reports, iOS only accounts for 12% of the total market. It’s not even close to Android.

And yet, back in the olden times we knew as March of 2013, Marvel unexpectedly announced the release of their exciting Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited app for iOS only. It wasn’t until a couple months later that the Android version of the Marvel Unlimited app was released, and in many ways it still doesn’t feel quite ready.
