Quietly big news this weekend as Marvel rolled out its Marvel Unlimited Android app update. Following the major Unlimited app development announced for iOS at SXSW, the Android app is now seeing similar improvements only a month later.
Are the app updates as functional as they’ve been on iOS? And do these app updates mean it’s time to pull the trigger on Marvel Unlimited if you use an Android device? [Read more…] about So How’s the Marvel Unlimited for Android App Update?

This week’s question is a two-parter:
I noticed that Civil War: Peter Parker, Spider Man ( sensational) is in the trade list but nowhere to be seen in the issue by issue list. Where do you think they should go? Also how does the death ( and life) of Cap America flow into this at the end? ~ Deb

May 2nd, 2014 saw the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (may we all live long and forget), and for many comic fans, that’s the superlative most frequently associated with our favorite webhead: The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s the title that Stan and Steve built, and it’s the most established for good reason.
Nonetheless, it’s the relatively pubescent Ultimate Spider-Man that will be influencing the film most strongly, and to my mind it’s Ultimate Spider-Man that new fans of Spidey should be most interested in catching up on.
I tweeted as much on Good Friday, and that leads us to this week’s question of the week: [Read more…] about Question of the Week: What’s a Good Ultimate Spider-Man Reading Order?

Update 1.5.17: There’s a new review of MU for 2017!
This week’s question comes from Shai, in the comments of my original Marvel Unlimited review.
So it’s been a year since you have published this.. I am so interested in reading comics.. i am completely new to this rabbit hole and well i dont know anything. Since i am not as rich as tony stark and i cannot really get every issue out there (since i like physical copies).. do you really recommend this?
I was thinking of getting the marvel unlimited service and then start getting Marvel Now! in physical copies.. i dont know 🙁
Don’t be sad Shai, and other would-be Unlimited subscribers! I’ve got your answer right here: [Read more…] about Question of the Week: Is Marvel Unlimited Still Worth it in 2016?

I’m angry. Not like Hulk-angry, or feral Wolverine, but maybe Beast after a BAMF! gets into his lab.
I spent a jog listening to Grantland Network’s “Do You Like Prince Movies” podcast today to hear their take on Cap 2. Alex Pappademas and Wesley Morris are smart, intellectual film and culture critics who always have something interesting to say.
But I was a bit shocked how vehemently I disagree with most of the arguments raised against Captain America: The Winter Soldier. [Read more…] about On Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s “Illusion of Change”
