It’s no secret that I’m a proponent of Marvel Unlimited, as both the best way to catch up on Marvel Comics, and as a forward-thinking business model for comic book publishers.

In my very first review of the subscription service (2012!) I couldn’t help but note how much money I was saving. At the time, Marvel Unlimited annual subscriptions were $59.99, meaning a subscription was the equivalent of 6 trade collections at $9.99 a pop (which would be a great value for TPB’s!). Scribd Unlimited Comics Review: Is It Worth It? What Are the Best Comics?

Earlier this week, Scribd stealth released a “Comics Unlimited” wing to their Netflix for books subscription service. According to Scribd you can “Browse more than 10,000 comics and graphic novels from Marvel, IDW/Top Shelf, Valiant, and more.” It’s an exciting addition to the digital comics landscape, and as you’d expect, I have a lot of thoughts. It’s been a minute since I took a look at Marvel Unlimited, and the recent update 2.2 is significant enough that it’s a good time to re-examine. My undying love for Marvel Unlimited (seriously go subscribe) is often combated by frustrations with the app experience. To lead with 100% transparency, I nearly titled this post the far more incendiary “Marvel Unlimited Support is AWFUL” but that’s my emotion talking, and in reality that’s an extremely misleading title. I thought instead I’d take the (pseudo) high road and simply lead with the facts:
