Question of the Week: Does Comic Book Herald Have a Facebook Page?

May 20, 2014 by Dave 4 Comments

Everywhere I go this week, I hear the same thing: Does Comic Book Herald have a Facebook page? Do you think Dave knows it’s May 20, 2014 and running a borderline popular website with no Facebook page is absurd? How old is he actually? The oldest? Do you think he writes these blog posts on stone tablets like George R.R. Martin, but with way less skill? Does he even know it’s Christmas?

Lotta questions, and a lot of good ones in there that I may need some more time to answer. But one I can address right here and now: Comic Book Herald now HAS A FACEBOOK PAGE. If you’re the sort who spends time on Facebook (see also: living and breathing in modern times and not some anachronistic super soldier), a like would be much obliged. In addition to the latest and greatest on Comic Book Herald, I’ll be sharing quite a bit of comic book reading order thoughts and news as they come to me. I’m also pretty quick to answer questions on these social networks (just ask my Twitter), so there’s that. Like me! Please! Question of the Week: How Central Are Avengers & New Avengers to Infinity?

May 5, 2014 by Dave 1 Comment

Boatload of questions this past week (you guys & gals are the best!), but only two of them overlapped to the point that I said “Yeah, I better cover the Infinity reading order.” As a reminder, you can send all your Comic Book Herald questions to dave@comicbookherald.com or @comicbookherald on Twitter. Question of the Week: When Should I Read The Life & Death of Captain America Story Arc?

April 28, 2014 by Dave 2 Comments

This week’s question is a two-parter:

I noticed that Civil War: Peter Parker, Spider Man ( sensational) is in the trade list but nowhere to be seen in the issue by issue list. Where do you think they should go? Also how does the death ( and life) of Cap America flow into this at the end? ~ Deb

On Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s “Illusion of Change”

April 12, 2014 by Dave 5 Comments

I’m angry. Not like Hulk-angry, or feral Wolverine, but maybe Beast after a BAMF! gets into his lab.

I spent a jog listening to Grantland Network’s “Do You Like Prince Movies” podcast today to hear their take on Cap 2. Alex Pappademas and Wesley Morris are smart, intellectual film and culture critics who always have something interesting to say.

But I was a bit shocked how vehemently I disagree with most of the arguments raised against Captain America: The Winter Soldier. [Read more…] about On Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s “Illusion of Change”

Top 5 NBA Players With Super Hero Alter Egos (Probably)

February 28, 2014 by Dave Leave a Comment

Last night it was revealed that NBA star Lebron James has been quietly protecting America as Batman. This all became quite clear when James forgot to remove his cowl (Technical Cowl, Cowled out, Flagrant Cowl… ok, it’s out of my system) prior to his game with the New York Knicks.

This raises one very important question: What NBA players double as comic book heroes? [Read more…] about Top 5 NBA Players With Super Hero Alter Egos (Probably)
