Arrow has kicked off with two great seasons. Season 1 gave us Ollie’s origins and his experiences on the island. It recreated the “Dark Archer” as the vengeful Malcolm Meryln and actually gave him a purpose (unlike the comics). Season 2 was amazing with Manu Bennet’s Slade Wilson/Deathstroke upping the stakes for the Arrow and his team. Clearly The CW knows how to use its villains for this show. After all they’ve included Bronze Tiger, China White, The Clock King, Deadshot and many other DC favorites. Given Queen’s small roster of iconic villains, what new villains are going to challenge the Arrow this season? Here’s a list of some baddies who could give Ollie a run for his money. Batgirl Enters a Brave New World
The world of comics was given a mainstream kick in this pants this week when Marvel announced on The View it was adding boobs to Thor and melanin to Captain America on the Colbert Report. Beneath the arguments of sexism and racism and cries of selling out and loss of originality, fans may have forgotten the week started with a small announcement regarding one Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl. So to paraphrase a Twitter question: [Read more…] about Question of the Week: What Do I Read Between Civil War & Secret Invasion?
Question of the Week: How Do Character Reading Orders Fit in With the Guide?
Good question this week that I haven’t done a great job explaining. I’ve been on the grind lately working up some Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men reading orders in connection with the recent films. As a result, Hags asks:
Can you explain (or point me in the direction where you have already explained) How your specific reading orders (i.e. x-men or spider-man) fit in with your complete Marvel reading guide? Are these a part of the guide, just pulled out and separated for fans of the individual series that might not want to read all of the other titles?
