There are certain things that really shouldn’t happen. Elephants shouldn’t fly. Baseball players shouldn’t cry. Humans shouldn’t eat mushrooms willingly (it’s a fungus y’all, come on).

Marvel announced a new digital comics feature today: Digital bundles! You can now buy complete comic arcs of some of Marvel’s best series, or sampler packages of some newer issues, for a reduced digital rate.
To those keeping up with the digital comics revolution, this is actually a repeat of the Comixology news last week, and yes, Marvel’s digital comic store bundles are the same offerings as those on Comixology. Secret War is something of an anomaly in the Marvel Universe. The 5 issue mini-series is the first Marvel “war” of the 2000’s, yet it frequently falls outside the realm of the major Marvel events.
Aside from the part where the issues nearly steal their name verbatim from a much better known series in Marvel history, this really shouldn’t be the case. Secret War is one of the more compelling events in Marvel chronology and has far reaching implications, strongly affecting Civil War and Secret Invasion.

This may seem over-dramatic, but Marvel Now! has a serious, festering, irredeemable dud on their hands with the first two issues of Thanos Rising.
