I noticed that Civil War: Peter Parker, Spider Man ( sensational) is in the trade list but nowhere to be seen in the issue by issue list. Where do you think they should go? Also how does the death ( and life) of Cap America flow into this at the end? ~ Deb

May 2nd, 2014 saw the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (may we all live long and forget), and for many comic fans, that’s the superlative most frequently associated with our favorite webhead: The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s the title that Stan and Steve built, and it’s the most established for good reason.
Nonetheless, it’s the relatively pubescent Ultimate Spider-Man that will be influencing the film most strongly, and to my mind it’s Ultimate Spider-Man that new fans of Spidey should be most interested in catching up on.

I’m angry. Not like Hulk-angry, or feral Wolverine, but maybe Beast after a BAMF! gets into his lab.
I spent a jog listening to Grantland Network’s “Do You Like Prince Movies” podcast today to hear their take on Cap 2. Alex Pappademas and Wesley Morris are smart, intellectual film and culture critics who always have something interesting to say.

Over the weekend, before heading out to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe one-shots for the first time. The first several are Coulson / SHIELD related, and I half-joked that each one was the best Agents of SHIELD episode of the season. Generally, this is accomplished in under 3 minutes.
After last night’s episode, that is finally no longer the case. The direct tie-in to Captain America 2 was hands down the best episode of the season, and hints at a future ripe with possibility (and more importantly, comic book tie-in theories).
