DEATH OF WOLVERINE Deadpool and Captain America – ADVENTURE!

October 30, 2014 by Jeff Ayers 1 Comment

For the uninitiated, let me get you up to speed. Captain America is a super soldier, who fought in WWII, was frozen in ice, and revived in modern times to lead the Avengers. Recently, he got the super soldier serum sucked out of him in a fight, because comics. This has left him a frail old man, but an old man with the skills and battle knowledge that he has acquired over the last half of century. Deadpool is another super soldier, of sorts, made stronger by the Weapon X program, the same one that bonded adamantium to Wolverine. He also breaks the fourth wall, a lot, and knows full well he is a comic book character.  Now, on to this issue! [Read more…] about DEATH OF WOLVERINE Deadpool and Captain America – ADVENTURE!

Review: Hobgoblin #1 – Axis Tie-In……yawn

October 24, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

Well, here’s another sentence I didn’t think I would ever write: I just finished reading Hobgoblin #1. This is going to be a three part mini, spiraling out of the events of the Marvel spanning Avengers and X-Men crossover event, AXIS. I did not expect much going into this book, and I got pretty much all that in return. [Read more…] about Review: Hobgoblin #1 – Axis Tie-In……yawn

DEATH OF WOLVERINE #4 Review! “History” – (SPOILERS!)

October 15, 2014 by Jeff Ayers 2 Comments

First of all, this review contains MAJOR SPOILERS about this mini-series. I know that many of you might only read these reviews, maybe because you don’t collect Wolverine, or don’t read comics at all. But this event is pretty significant to all of the Marvel Universe, hell, it’s pretty damn significant to anyone and everyone who knows who Wolverine is. I will be very curious to see how the general media handles this, considering how previous beloved character deaths have made nationwide and international news, like Superman, Captain America, and Spider-Man. So again, please read on, but if you are waiting still to actually read the book, beware of SPOILERS. [Read more…] about DEATH OF WOLVERINE #4 Review! “History” – (SPOILERS!)

Captain America #25 Review! “The New Guy”

October 2, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

This issue is a landmark one, in that a new player dons the stars and stripes, and takes up the shield. It has been hinted at throughout the Captain America line for months now, and finally the issue is upon us. After this, a new volume of Cap will start at number 1, yet again, and we will all see how long Falcon retains the mantle. [Read more…] about Captain America #25 Review! “The New Guy”
