Spoilers suck. I find it consistently amazing how important spoiler-free integrity can be to popular art.
Take TV for example. I don’t watch Game of Thrones in the moment. No HBO subscription, and honestly I haven’t found a show that makes for a quicker, better, binge-watch DVD bull rush. Dexter comes close. But Game of Thrones is an easy first. [Read more…] about The Death of Odin – OR How Thor Becomes the Lord of Asgard

There are certain things that really shouldn’t happen. Elephants shouldn’t fly. Baseball players shouldn’t cry. Humans shouldn’t eat mushrooms willingly (it’s a fungus y’all, come on).
Perhaps more importantly than any of the above, Thor should NOT beat Thanos in a standalone knockdown dragout brouhaha. Secret War is something of an anomaly in the Marvel Universe. The 5 issue mini-series is the first Marvel “war” of the 2000’s, yet it frequently falls outside the realm of the major Marvel events.
Aside from the part where the issues nearly steal their name verbatim from a much better known series in Marvel history, this really shouldn’t be the case. Secret War is one of the more compelling events in Marvel chronology and has far reaching implications, strongly affecting Civil War and Secret Invasion.
I’ve had a few readers ask recently where Secret War belongs in the Marvel reading order, and it’s time we solved the puzzle once and for all – without further ado, here’s the complete Secret War reading experience guide. Here comes Man of Steel! I’m pumped for the film’s release and hoping Superman can put DC’s movie future back on track. There’s a lot riding on Clark Kent’s shoulders, but really it was silly to think the future of a Justice League movie might play out any other way. Putting my faith in Green Lantern just got me a headache and an anger management problem.
