THE WEAPON X PROGRAM #1 : “Question” Direct tie-in to Death of Wolverine

November 7, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

The “Death of Wolverine” train is still chugging along, pumping out various one shots and issues in comics that tie into Wolverine. (Check out my reviews of Logan Legacy, and various other tie ins!) This is the first book of a five issue series, and picks up directly from the events at the end of “Death of Wolverine”. The Amazing Spider-Man #9 Review! Spider-Verse Event Begins!

November 6, 2014 by Bill Zeiders 1 Comment

We’ve been to the edge, but this week Spider-Verse finally kicks off in Amazing Spider-Man #9. Promised as “the biggest spider-event in history” and containing “every Spider-Man ever,” this story has a lot to live up to. And it quite literally is big; this issue is a 36-pager with no ads, save a Marvel promotional fold-out. [Read more…] about The Amazing Spider-Man #9 Review! Spider-Verse Event Begins!

ThE LOGAN LEGACY #3 – Sabertooth

October 30, 2014 by Jeff Ayers Leave a Comment

Whoa. I have read the other two issues of this run so far, (check out my review of #2), and I really haven’t been impressed. I get why this mini-series exists, to deal with the void that Wolverine left to his friends and foes connected to him, as well as to continue to sell books off of his recent death arc. But then issue 3 comes along and I am completely blown away, and rightfully so, because a character like Sabertooth deserves nothing less. [Read more…] about ThE LOGAN LEGACY #3 – Sabertooth

DEATH OF WOLVERINE Deadpool and Captain America – ADVENTURE!

October 30, 2014 by Jeff Ayers 1 Comment

For the uninitiated, let me get you up to speed. Captain America is a super soldier, who fought in WWII, was frozen in ice, and revived in modern times to lead the Avengers. Recently, he got the super soldier serum sucked out of him in a fight, because comics. This has left him a frail old man, but an old man with the skills and battle knowledge that he has acquired over the last half of century. Deadpool is another super soldier, of sorts, made stronger by the Weapon X program, the same one that bonded adamantium to Wolverine. He also breaks the fourth wall, a lot, and knows full well he is a comic book character.  Now, on to this issue! [Read more…] about DEATH OF WOLVERINE Deadpool and Captain America – ADVENTURE!

Deathlok #1 Review!

October 29, 2014 by Bill Zeiders Leave a Comment

If you’re a 90’s kid like me, you probably remember Deathlok. Well, you probably remember at least one Deathlok. Between 1992 and 1993, I think he made a guest appearance in just about every Marvel book there was. He embodied much of the 90’s comics aesthetic; cybernetic arms and legs, big guns, an eye-piece, belt pouches, those new-fangled computer thingies, the whole deal. But that was the Michael Collins Deathlok. In Deathlok #1, Marvel launches a newer, hipper, Deathlok into the 21st century. Well, sort of. [Read more…] about Deathlok #1 Review!
