You don’t see nearly as many successful legacy characters in Marvel as you do in DC, but Captain Marvel (and Ms. Marvel) makes for one of Marvel’s strongest progressions through time. You have sevearl separate core characters that have occupied a “Marvel” title over time, and to make matters even more complicated, DC of course has their own Captain Marvel and Marvel Family! Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Reading Order Guide!
I always wondered which characters or stories would pull my own kids into the world of Marvel Comics. The animated Spidey, Miles and Ghost-Spider show got the ball rolling, but it was really the first time my son saw Devil Dinosaur in Marvel Snap! that suddenly the floodgates opened. Not surprising because guess what: Kids love dinosaurs.
In recent years, after decades of obscurity, Devil Dinosaur has had a renaissance, paired with Lunella Lafayette aka Moon Girl for one of Marvel’s most young-readers friendly comics, alongside the likes of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl or The Unstoppable Wasp. Nonetheless, only one of these books has a giant red T-Rex, so naturally there can be only one winner. [Read more…] about Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Reading Order Guide!
Emma Frost Reading Order!

Created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Emma Frost was the White Queen of the Hellfire Club. She initially opposed the X-Men, but soon we started learning more about her and how much she cares about children. After that, Emma began to change sides and have a more friendly relationship with the X-Men and the New Mutants.
Emma is a deep character and she is often said to be one of the most interesting characters in the X-Men universe. She has been part of many acclaimed stories over time, like the New X-Men run by Grant Morrison, Generation X, and the now publishing Krakoan age that started with Hickman’s House of X & Powers of X. Manifold (Eden Fesi) Reading Order!

Eden Fesi, the hero Manifold, is an indigenous Australian mutant created by Jonathan Hickman, Brian Michael Bendis, and Stefano Caselli. He is a universal shaper – in other words – he talks to space, and when he asks for something, you can pretty much consider it done. At first, he trained under Gateway, but Daisy Johnson soon recruited Eden to be part of her team, the Secret Warriors.
Eden has also had adventures with the Avengers and was an important part of the team, while Hickman was the writer from 2012 to 2015. [Read more…] about Manifold (Eden Fesi) Reading Order!
Shadow King Reading Order!

Created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Shadow King is a psychic entity that feeds on fear and rage. It needs hosts to survive outside the astral plane; the most well-known is Amahl Farouk, the first person it ever possessed, but a lot of other characters had their bodies used by it, like Psylocke, Karma, Moira, Legion, and even Black Panther.
It first met Professor X before the X-Men were even created. After that encounter, Shadow King swore revenge against him. While Professor’s dream is to live peacefully with others, the evil entity known as the Shadow King feeds on hatred and the shadows in people’s souls. Their confrontations are always interesting to see because of that. But the evil entity also has interesting face-offs with other characters, like Storm and the New Mutants.
Now, Farouk is living in Krakoa with most other mutants. Vita Ayala wrote a great arc centered around him in the current New Mutants run. His future isn’t certain yet, but I’m sure we can expect exciting things. [Read more…] about Shadow King Reading Order!
