How to Read Comic Book PDFs (Offline) on Your Tablet

October 20, 2014 by Dave 3 Comments

I can’t totally decide how embarrassed I should be by this, so I’ll just come out and say it: I’ve had the hardest time figuring out a good way to read comic book PDFs on my tablet. Ok, Ok, I hear you, my grandma’s calling and she’d like to offer some help with getting me on the internet, I get it. But when you rule out the tedious and time-consuming practice of manually loading PDF files onto a device, what’s the best way to read comic book PDFs (on the go) on your tablet? Dr Who: The Twelfth Doctor #1 – Scottish, Cranky, and Pitch Perfect

October 19, 2014 by Dave Leave a Comment

I’ve been surprised with how much I’ve enjoyed Peter Capaldi’s 12th doctor. This happens with every new incarnation of the Doctor in my lifetime (“he’s wearing tennis shoes and a suit!” and “he looks like a baby with a chin!”), but Capaldi’s announcement seemed to receive extra passionate disapproval. After much speculation about finally changing the Doctor’s gender or race, with such names as Hermoine Granger and Stringer Bell thrown into the ring, at the end of the day the announcement was “Please welcome another old white guy!” Oh. Avengers & X-Men: Axis #2 Review! It’s All Your Fault Tony Stark

October 17, 2014 by Travis Bass Leave a Comment

Two issues in, and we already get a giant battle between a demon Nazi with two giant robots and a large percentage of Marvel’s biggest characters. Apparently Rick Remender didn’t get the message that Marvel events are supposed to hold back on anything exciting until the last issue (or maybe last two), and the rest of the event is meant to promise that something cool is coming like they’re dangling a shiny object in front of our faces. Anyway, Axis began on a good if not spectacular note, but how does the second issue continue the tale of Red Onslaught’s rampage? [Read more…] about Avengers & X-Men: Axis #2 Review! Agents of SHIELD Episode 4 (S2): Can Marvel TV Survive Without Anything Super?

October 15, 2014 by Dave Leave a Comment

Another week of Agents of SHIELD, another review where all I want to do is talk about The Flash. Over on the CW (Comics Winners), The Flash is featuring a new meta human (character with super powers) every week. Agents of SHIELD, on the other hand, has been notoriously cagey with powers, slow-playing reveals of Blizzard and Graviton (still M.I.A.) until leading season two with the Absorbing Man. So here’s this week’s theme: Can comic book TV survive like that? [Read more…] about Agents of SHIELD Episode 4 (S2): Can Marvel TV Survive Without Anything Super?

DEATH OF WOLVERINE #4 Review! “History” – (SPOILERS!)

October 15, 2014 by Jeff Ayers 2 Comments

First of all, this review contains MAJOR SPOILERS about this mini-series. I know that many of you might only read these reviews, maybe because you don’t collect Wolverine, or don’t read comics at all. But this event is pretty significant to all of the Marvel Universe, hell, it’s pretty damn significant to anyone and everyone who knows who Wolverine is. I will be very curious to see how the general media handles this, considering how previous beloved character deaths have made nationwide and international news, like Superman, Captain America, and Spider-Man. So again, please read on, but if you are waiting still to actually read the book, beware of SPOILERS. [Read more…] about DEATH OF WOLVERINE #4 Review! “History” – (SPOILERS!)
