Superman is a character full of hope and optimism. The first Superhero, hitting newsstands all the way back in 1938. He may not be as popular as someone like Batman, but he deserves to be looked at with respect. Surprisingly though, when it comes to story recommendations, it seems to be the same five stories over and over again. While yes, they are definitely worth reading, I wanted to highlight some amazing stories, along with a few classics, that don’t nearly get as much love and attention, but will also provide a well rounded look at the character that is Clark Kent. My choices may raise a few eyebrows, but any discussion about great Superman stories is a worthwhile discussion. [Read more…] about The 11 Best Superman Stories!

Underrated Gems: The Elric Trilogy Of Titan!
‘Fully captures Elric’s sense of utter decadence. The saga of the albino I would have written myself had I thought of it first!’ – Michael Moorcock
‘I’d like to join with Moorcock in declaring this to be the most successful, true-in-spirit re-imagining of his fate harrowed icon.’ – Alan Moore
Right now, you likely belong to one of two groups:
Group A- You know Elric. At least of Elric, even if not about Elric. You have at least a basic cultural osmosis idea of what the deal is. Or perhaps you’re far more familiar than that. Perhaps you’re a fan and a reader and you’re curious on this new Titan Trilogy.
Group B- Who is the heck is this sword-toting dude? What’s an Elric? Why am I meant to care or get interested in this at all? This is the first I’ve heard of all this! [Read more…] about Underrated Gems: The Elric Trilogy Of Titan!
Krakin’ Krakoa #51: What Avengers Time Travel Tells Us About 2020 X-Men!
For my 32nd Birthday week, I decided to explore some of my favorite 32nd issues in comics, and that led me back to the Jonathan Hickman written Avengers #32. I wasn’t planning on the next episode of Krakin’ Krakoa centered around Hickman’s Avengers, but this issue, and the “Infinite Avengers” storyline is particularly compelling in connection with Hickman’s X-Men and the structure and approach to future timelines. Hickman’s Marvel Universe, dating back to 2008, is uniquely interconnected, and it’s useful to consider lessons from his previous work that will carry forward into X-Men.
Today I’ll answer:
- How an Avengers Future is both different and nearly identical to a Mutant Future
- How time travel works in the Marvel Universe of writer Jonathan Hickman
- Some theories about the way time travel will play a role in X-Men!

Avengers #32 falls smack in the middle of perhaps the densest portion of the Jonathan Hickman written Avengers that ran from 2012 to 2015 before culminating in the best comic book event of all time, 2015’s Secret Wars. It’s a crucial juncture in the intersecting master plan of Hickman’s New Avengers / Avengers dueling stories, and the kickoff to “Time Runs Out,” when the blend between issues of New Avengers and Avengers wholly consumes the distinct differences in each series.
