Amazing Spider-Man #8 Review! Edge of the Spider-Verse with Ms. Marvel!
This is it, the last part of Edge of Spider-Verse before we crawl from the edge to smack dab in the middle of Spider-Verse proper. This issue contains the resolution of Spider-Man’s team-up with the new Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan, that began in Amazing #7. It also contains the final Edge of Spider-Verse tie-in featuring the MC2 May “Mayday” Parker Spider-Girl, and it’s a doozy. Agents of Shield Episode 5 (S2) Review! The Doctor Is In
I’m fond of Kyle MacLachlan. I’ll just come right out and say it, whenever I see him little serene bass notes play in my head and I can’t stop shouting “COOOOOOOPPPP” every time he’s on screen. So man was it satisfying, on so many levels, to finally see MacLachlan get some screen time as Skye’s dad! Throw in the addition of Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird), Coulson calling Raina’s bluff like he’s Sammy Farja, and Fitz’s comments on Mack looking like he found Ray Lewis’ antler spray, and you have the best episode of Agents of SHIELD so far this season. Dr Who: The Twelfth Doctor #1 – Scottish, Cranky, and Pitch Perfect
I’ve been surprised with how much I’ve enjoyed Peter Capaldi’s 12th doctor. This happens with every new incarnation of the Doctor in my lifetime (“he’s wearing tennis shoes and a suit!” and “he looks like a baby with a chin!”), but Capaldi’s announcement seemed to receive extra passionate disapproval. After much speculation about finally changing the Doctor’s gender or race, with such names as Hermoine Granger and Stringer Bell thrown into the ring, at the end of the day the announcement was “Please welcome another old white guy!” Oh.
