In my book, 2018 is a generally good year for comics, with Marvel’s Fresh Start actually semi-righting a shaky ship, DC maintaining quality at the top of its lineup, and a whole “new” slew of publishers like Black Mask, Vault, and Aftershock joining non-Big 2 regulars like Image, Dark Horse & Boom Comics among my 20 favorites.

Spider-Gwen Reading Order
Spider-Gwen is one of the most successful “new” Marvel universe characters created in the 2010s. We put “new” in quotation marks because Spider-Gwen is more of a character-remix, one that completely reimagines and reinterprets the original Gwen Stacy into an exciting and fresh new character.
Spider-Gwen’s popularity has far and away transcended the panels and pages of the Marvel comic book universe, becoming a cosplay icon and, most notably, featuring heavily in the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated film.
Best Marvel Comics of 2018
Marvel’s been in a hot seat of their own making since the conclusion of Secret Wars (and really before then, considering they illogically launched “All-New All-Different” Marvel *prior* to the universe-shattering event’s conclusion. Despite their ability to reign as the leading market share publisher throughout a turbulent time, there’s no question Marvel *knows* they’re in need of a new perception. The Best Miles Morales Comics To Read With “Into the Spider-Verse”
Since his creation a scant eight years ago, Miles Morales has quickly become one of the most interesting new Marvel characters. His ascension from Ultimate Universe legacy Spider-Man to PS4 Spider-Man supporting role to star of the feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is amazing (spectacular, even friendly neighborhood).
