Rob Liefeld – A Tale of Two Dogs Fighting

October 3, 2019 by John Galati 9 Comments

It had to happen. We had to talk about Rob Liefeld. The man is, and always will be, an enormous figure in the comics field. So big that the gravity he exerts pulls all blogposts towards him.

But I did not want to make the standard Rob Liefeld article. I didn’t want to make pouch and feet jokes or take cheap shots at his infamous Captain America drawing. These things are tired and unhelpful. Instead, I will try my best to put jokes aside because Rob Liefeld deserves many, many things… but not humor. How to Frame Your Comics

September 19, 2019 by John Galati 1 Comment

If you’ve been watching our deep-dive videos on YouTube, then you know that I have a serious problem. No, not my crippling inability to remember names or my hatred of electric razors. I’m talking about something much more serious:

Frames.

My walls are covered in frames. Comics, art prints, LPs, if it can survive under glass, I’ve got it hanging in here. Which is why I’m the perfect person to help you with your interior decorating needs. Because not only do I know how to arrange stuff on a wall, but I’ve run out of space on mine and now need to use yours. [Read more…] about How to Frame Your Comics

The 10 Best X-Men Stories of the 2010s!

August 31, 2019 by Matt Lehn Leave a Comment

It’s not always easy being the X-Men. As advertised, they are “hated and feared by a world they’re sworn to protect.” However, they are also capable of selling millions of comics and becoming household names.

Indeed, their very publication history would graph with quite the insane peaks and valleys of popularity- from cancellation and reprint limbo to perpetuating one of the most unwieldy multi-title franchises.

That being said, it’s truly been some time since fans have been genuinely excited about Marvel’s Children of the Atom. All that has recently changed with the launch of Jonathan Hickman’s slate-cleaning take-over as the intertwining mini-series House of X and Powers of X currently unfold and astound. Best Star Wars Comics To Read Before Episode 9

August 24, 2019 by Matt Lehn Leave a Comment

We’re still a few months away from the release of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker and while official sneak-peek details have been thus far relatively sparse, it goes without saying that speculation throughout fandom is at an all-time high.

As the concluding chapter to one of pop culture’s watershed sagas, so much is riding on how this movie unfolds. Sure, there’s been the fist-pumping teaser trailer and action figure reveals such as the mysteriously red-uniformed Sith Troopers, but really it’s still mostly wide-open curiosity as to where these breadcrumbs go. As such, here’s some suggestions from Marvel’s catalog of canonical Star Wars titles to serve as some “pre-game” fan fuel, hopefully informing the flavor and enriching the background of the upcoming film… [Read more…] about Best Star Wars Comics To Read Before Episode 9

The Best Joker Stories Of All Time!

August 20, 2019 by John Galati 1 Comment

The Joker is the perfect comic villain, with high scores across every conceivable grade. He’s instantly recognizable. He’s the dark reflection of Batman’s psychotic, violent tendencies. Joker’s got range, allowing him to be funny and charming while terrifying others.

Best of all, he never loses track of being terrifying. No one does bad better than him, and the few times he tries to be good? He’s worse.

Here, then, are some of the Joker’s best moments.
