The Hunt For Wolverine and Return of Wolverine Reading Order

It’s somewhat hard to believe, but heading in to October 2017, Wolverine had been “dead” since 2014’s aptly titled The Death of Wolverine. The creative team of Charles Soule and Steve McNiven followed up the “Killable” phase of Wolverine losing his mutant healing factor with a proper send-off encasing the popular character in adamantium.

For obvious reasons, this hasn’t meant Marvel has lacked any “Wolverine” in their X-Men comics. Laura Kinney, the former X-23, inherited the true mantle of Wolverine, while Old Man Logan was simultaneously thrown from the universe-meld of Secret Wars into Earth-616. Both series have actually been two of the better All-New All-Different Marvel era titles, with Laura’s run as Wolverine one of my favorite Marvel books of 2016 and 2017.

The Hunt for Wolverine begins

Previously: The Death of Wolverine

Inevitably, it was only a matter of time before Middle-Aged Logan returned to the fold, and he’ll be fully integrated into the Marvel Universe through the 2018 events Infinity Countdown and The Hunt for Wolverine.

What about Hunt For Wolverine – Dead Ends #1? Is it right before the The Return of Wolverine #1?

If you check the last issue of the 4 issue mini’s it says they are all continued in Dead Ends. So yes, it is safe to say that Dead Ends have been the title immediately before Return.
