The premiere was phenomenal, really smart move to give a full episode for each timeline instead of cutting between them, I also liked the parallel of the future timeline Apocalypse being obsessed with an young Cable because of his powers just like Rama Tut was obsessed with an young Apocalypse in the ancient past. I also find it crazy what a great layup they got from the original series, having Rogue be such a big part of the original Apocalypse arc, including her being the one to save Archangel sets up everything for the return of Gambit as a horseman perfectly.
This premiere also got me in the mood for some comics and I gotta say that Mackay’s run is really great, I’ve read 14 issues on Unlimited since the premier and it really scratched that itch, I’ve seen that Marvel gave him an event, DNX, which will be happening this fall and it will also include Krakoan Beast as a villain. I might get back into floppies too with that one because he will be writing the main mini and several tie-ins from his ongoing too, sounds like Marvel really giving the new guy the freedom to showcase his trade and skills and I’m here for it.
