Hi guys! Just started on your Ultimate Year and am reading Ultimate Spiderman #1-7. In the first panel of #2 … is that a word choice error designed to make the teacher look bad? Other wise it makes the author look kinda bad … what do you guys think?

although I suppose it could mean elevate … if they wanted to make it worse!

The Smoot-Hawley was not really aimed to aleviate anything, in fact it contributed to the early loss of confidence on Wall Street and signaled U.S. isolationism. So I guess it is more of a comment by Bendis on the Republican party.
