This one’s a quickie: I was all set to praise for Marvel for their well-crafted and genuinely useful Ultron timeline in anticipation of this year’s Age of Ultron… and then I realized where all their links went.So within the timeline of Ultron stories, Marvel references specific events (such as his creation of Vision, or one of his several apparent deaths) and then links to what, in theory, should be a listing for those comics.
I thought this was great! They’re actually taking the time to help readers catch up on previous stories and send them straight to the digital catalog collected on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited.
And instead, all you get is Marvel’s 404 error page.
As much as I enjoy their Doop-based 404, the good intentions here have pretty quickly run awry.
Obviously my faith in the digital future of major comic book publishers is pretty thin this week. Marvel’s the clear leader, but sloppy stuff like broken links isn’t helping matters.

I’ll chalk this one up to an unexpected byproduct of their website redesign and hope they get it fixed next time.
