Tarot Reading of X-Men: X of Swords Chapter 17 – X-Force #14!

November 19, 2020 by Gabi Echenique Leave a Comment

Editor’s Note: Tarot Readings are a major thematic and stylistic component of the 2020 X-Men comics event, X of Swords. Since it’s not a field I know, I’m excited to bring in a specialist to provide unique readings based in the Tarot connections of the story. We’ll be running these Tarot examinations following each of the event’s 22 parts. Enjoy!

Calamity is announced and The Tower is struck by lighting both in major arcana number #16 and X-Force #14, chapter 17 of 22 from the X of Swords crossover.

The Best Moon Knight Comics Of All Time!

November 18, 2020 by Zoe Tunnell Leave a Comment

Moon Knight! He’s Batman in a white suit! He’s Daredevil but SUPER CRAZY! He’s Oscar Isaac, in the near future. The Fist of Khonshu isn’t one of Marvel’s most famous characters, nor one that has really ever broke through to the upper echelons of the Marvel Pantheon. He’s been an Avenger and a Hero for Hire, had solo ongoings and minis for decades, and is the proud owner of some of the greatest outfits in comics. But…is he any good?

The answer is: Yeah, kind of! While Moon Knight doesn’t share the same deep well of classic stories as many other Marvel standouts, he has absolutely had several well worth reading. Which is why you’re here, probably, so, without further preamble: Here are the 10 Best Moon Knight Stories! [Read more…] about The Best Moon Knight Comics Of All Time!

Creannotators #25: “X-Men Liberty and Justice For All” Interview With Writer Carrie Harris

November 17, 2020 by Dave Leave a Comment

This week on Creannotators, I talked with novelist Carrie Harris about her work X-Men: Liberty and Justice For All, the first entry in Aconyte Books line of Marvel’s Xavier School prose stories! We talk about Carrie’s history with X-Men comics, the specific era of X-Men and characters Harris is working with (right down to the in-continuity location in Marvel’s comics!), and much more.

On Comic Book Herald’s ‘Creannotators’ I’ll be interviewing some of my favorite creators in comics about specific runs, graphic novels or series, looking for their insights on the inspirations behind the work and ideas or hidden material readers may have missed. Creannotators is an audio annotative guide to enjoying the intricacies and thinking in the art. Thanks for listening, and enjoy the comics!

An Interview With Esteemed Author Henry Henry

November 16, 2020 by Sean Dillon Leave a Comment

Comic Book Herald scored an exclusive interview with renowned author Henry Henry, most recently depicted in the pages of Vault Comics’ Fearscape, about the upcoming follow-up work A Dark Interlude.

He sits across from the other side of the screen an ocean away. From what I had heard about the man, I was expecting a monster. Like one of those character actors who got type cast as the self-satisfied serial killer. Richard Brake in a Rob Zombie film or Lars Mikkelsen playing Rupert Murdoch for Steven Moffat. The kind of calculating man who would chew your ear off about the symbolic implications of a murder tableau while standing before your father’s corpse. The knife still embedded into his heart.

Instead, he’s twitchy. A sad, twitchy little man with a palpable sense of himself. He wants you to believe he’s so much smarter than he is, almost as much as he wants to believe it himself. He tries to hide it behind shadows. His cell is deliberately lit to make visibility more difficult like he’s the monster in a film noir. He sits cross legged with a slight smile on his face.
