I’m old enough to remember when DC first launched their streaming app and it came fully stocked with DC Comics, animation, and new live-action shows like Titans (remember that?!). My how times have changed! Since then, DC’s app game fell in line with a tried and true mirror of Marvel Unlimited‘s digital comics streaming, rebranding as DC Universe Infinite and focusing entirely on comic books. Which is just as well for me since that’s 99.9% of my media intake!
So, yes, DC Universe Infinite is loaded with close to 30,000 comics (over 32,000 if you include the Vertigo and Black Label comics included in the Ultra tier), including a majority of the best DC comics of all time. If you think you’ll be reading loads of DC Comics this year, there’s no easier, more convenient way to access and track a library than DC Universe Infinite. If you’re more on the fence, though, let’s take a look at some aspects to consider as to whether or not DC Universe Infinite is worth it. [Read more…] about Is DC Universe Infinite Worth It In 2025?

When I first visit a comic shop, I like to ask the staff what sort of comics they enjoy and recommend. This helps me to understand shop culture and owner interests while learning more about other readers in my community. When visiting a shop a little over a year ago, the owner recommended I check out a recent book from modern comics legend Robert Kirkman. This book, Void Rivals, was to be the start of a new connected comic book universe. I distinctly remember him pointing to a variant cover with a giant robot (shown below) on it and exclaiming, “I mean it’s Transformers AND G.I. Joe in one Universe. Like Saturday morning cartoons!”
As these series approach their two year anniversary, there isn’t a better pitch for The Energon Universe (which derives its name from the fictional energy source “Energon” that ties together every corner of the universe). If you want high-octane comics that are as good as the cartoons you remember from your childhood, or if you’re looking to dip your toe into Transformers, G.I. Joe, and more, this reading guide will tell you everything you need to get started reading The Energon Universe. [Read more…] about Energon Universe Reading Order (Transformers & G.I. Joe)
Zack & Dave spending 15 minutes talking about where cream comes from (??!) before getting into this week’s comic… this one is for the sickos.
