It’s worth noting that Black Vortex takes place during Marvel NOW! You can read all the setup for this 2014 event in Comic Book Herald’s complete Marvel NOW! reading order.
I’d also point out that this is the second time during Marvel NOW! the X-Men and Guardians have come together (With Brian Michael Bendis writing both series). The first instance occurred during Guardians of the Galaxy/All-New X-Men: The Trial of Jean Grey.
