• Hello. I recently got back into comics because of you! So I started buying all the comics I could find, and I bought the Avengers Academy tie in without noticing that the AvX tie ins are in one book. Can you break down that big book into the smaller trades please?

• The issue by issue list is very wrong, sorry to say. all out of order of whats happening.

• If I follow the trade issue order, do I read the tie in companion after I read AvX or before ?

• so where do i really start to read first? the above list one Avengers vs. X-Men: It's Coming and so on. Or the below on when u put an issues? Or them both? Please help me i'm so new to this :(

  • So the first list highlights trade collections where you can find this story collected. If you want to read these books via amazon, or a local library, those are the volumes you'll want to check out.

    The second list is for each individual comic book issue - this list makes the most sense if you're using Marvel Unlimited (great value, I reccomend!)

• Should Avengers 24 actually be Avengers 24.1? I read the descriptions on Marvel Unlimited and 24.1 seems correct.

• Hi there. I'm starting to read this series now, but I'm getting majorly confused here. I have your list, the reading order from Marvel Unlimited (which is more often than not wrong), and the reading order from the AVX companion purchased from Google play store and all three have different issues in different places. I don't mean to say you're wrong, because I've used your site before for the Age of Ultron series and it was perfect, but is the reading order from the official companion book from Marvel wrong or is it an alternate reading order that would still make sense in the end?   • Marvel's lists are typically based entirely on publication date, which doesn't always lend to the best read. So inevitably you'll find some differences among guides. Naturally, I'm partial to my order, with the added benefit of updates should readers provide suggestions. Enjoy the comics!

    • I'm just getting back into marvel after a long time and have collected the build up to Secret Wars from your lists. After starting to read the all new all different marvel I've realized I'd benefit from avx and uncanny Avengers. Is there anything I can cut from this order to cheapen it up for me?

      • You could probably get by with just the core AvX event issues. Everything else fills in details / side stories.

• Secret avengers 27 takes place before avengers 26 and 27. Just a fyi.

  • Secret Avengers 28 before Avengers 26 and 27 as well.
    At least that's what it says on the recap page of secret avengers 27 and 28.

    • And new avengers 27 after AvX 7.

      • Well, spider-man isn't in kun lun until AvX 8, so new avengers should probably go after that.

        • Wolverine and the X-Men 16 still has 5 Phoenix X-men, so might have to go before AvX 8.

• Hey, I love your lists! However, while I was reading, I noticed something that should be changed. Uncanny X-Men #13 takes place after Avengers Academy #31. It also takes place during AvX #5, but there are references to it in Uncanny X-Men #13 and not the other way around, so I feel it should be read after AvX #5.

  • This is the only modification I agree should be made. The rest of the list is perfect and far superior to the suggestions in the comments.

    • I also recommend New Avengers 27 after AvX 7. That's the issue with K'un Lun training. That issue of AvX is where Danny brings in Lei-Kung for help, which sets up NA #27.

• X-Men Legacy #269 and #270 need to be included.

  Avengers Academy #34 should probably be excluded, and #33 grouped with #32.

  • Where in the list do X-Men Legacy #269 and #270 go?

• your list is amazing, a real life saver :-) if I may, I would make a correction. Before Avengers vs Xmen 12 you placed Wolverine and the Xmen 18, which spoilers the ending of Avengers vs Xmen 12 and the whole saga! I just read it, I just got spoiled, I'm still gonna read all the rest but... :-(

• Hi. Im really new to the whole Marvel comics universe ans just stumbled upon your reading list. I'd like to know if the list is still up to date or not... I stumbled upon another list of reading which included several comics you did not put on your list:

  -Marvel Now! Point One 001 (at the very beginning)
  -Avengers vs X-Men 001 Infinite (before AvX 01)
  -X-Men Legacy 266-267 (after Wolverine and X-Men 10)
  -X-Men Legacy 268 (after AvX Versus 03)
  -X-Men Legacy 269-270 (after New Avengers 27)
  -Avengers vs X-Men 006 Infinite (before AvX 06)
  -Uncanny X-Men 20 (after Wolverine and x-men 18)
  -A-Babies vs X-Babies 01 (after AvX Consequenses 05)
  -What If AvX 001 to 004 (after AvX Consequenses 05 & after AvX Babies)

  I wanted to know if those should be included. Thanks and sorry for the long list :S

    • X-Men Legacy 266 should definitely be included, I noticed on MU that it was sporting the AvX banner on the cover but it wasn't on the list (it's also not listed as part of the event on Marvel.com). Not sure about the rest of the issues mentioned (I haven't gotten that far yet), although X-Men Legacy 267 & 268 are already on your list.

        • I saw that the back catalog of "Infinite Comics" was added Marvel Unlimited this past week which reminded me about this list. So the three ",5" Infinite comics mentioned above could probably be added to the reading order now:

          As for the other suggestions, here's my thoughts:

          Marvel Now! Point One is the wrong "Point One". The one relevant to this list is the 2011 "Point One" which has a tiny prelude for AvX: http://marvel.com/comics/issue/41163/point_one_2011_1

          X-Men Legacy 269 / 270 while they aren't really essential, they're a fun little side-story dealing with Rogue / Ms. Marvel and explains a little about what Magik is doing with her Phoenix powers.

          Uncanny #20 ties up Sinister's and Magik's subplots and segue's in the epilogue content pretty well.

          A-Babies and What If? are both fun reads but very very optional.
